Sooner or later, all people get older. However, everyone wants to delay the onset of age-related changes. This is possible if you know the factors contributing to premature aging. Its main culprits, according to the scientists, are overweight and Smoking. They initiate the process of photoaging of the skin.
Photoaging is damage to various layers of the skin, including profound, resulting from complex biological processes in body. Scientists say that the bad habit of Smoking and excess fat can do skin more susceptible to the harmful effects of sunlight and, consequently, to photoaging. As a result of photoaging on the surface of the skin appear roughness, age spots, wrinkles, and visible blood vessels.
American scientists in 2002 examined 65 pairs of identical twins. Study were twins aged 18 to 77 years. They completed questionnaires, which contained questions on their weight, skin type, habits of drinking and Smoking. The results were calculated with the help of a scoring system. A certain number assigned to each twin for one or another degree of change rugosity and pigmentation.
As a result of research, the scientists came to the conclusion that the photoaging affect overweight and Smoking. They say that 40% of visible changes have occurred in the result of the strengthening of the influence of external factors on the process of skin aging while genetic factors identified by 60%. Oddly enough, the aging process, according to the researchers, does not affect the use of alcohol. Scientists believe that the refusal of area and overeating can extend youth.
